22 Padma Shris for art

New Delhi, Jan 25 | Twenty-two people, including vocalist Fariduddin Dagar and theatre veteran Joy Michael, will get the Padma Shri in the field of art, it was announced here Wednesday.

The others are Vanraj Bhatia, N.I. Devi, R.S.H. Chittani, Moti Lal Khemu, Shahid Parvez Khan, Mohan Lal Kumhar, S.K. Manganiar, Minati Mishra, Natesan Muthuswamy, R. Nagarathnamma, K.S. Nambootiri, Y. Waikar, Satish Alekar. Gopal Prasad Dubey, Ramakant Gundecha, Uma Kant Gundecha, Anup Jalota, Sonam Nair Priyadarsan, Sunil Janah, Laila Tyebji and Vijay Sharma.

The late cartoonist Mario Miranda and the late musician Bhupen Hazarika were amongst the five people awarded the Padma Vibhushan Wednesday. The others are sculptor K.G. Subramanyan, orthopaedist Kantilal Hastimal Sancheti and civil servant T.V. Rajeswar.

Jatin Das, Anish Kapoor get Padma Bhushan:
Eminent artists Jatin Das, Khaled Choudhury and Anish Kapoor were Wednesday amongst the Padma Bhushan awardees in the field of art. Others in the category are Buddhadev Das Gupta, T.V. Gopalkrishnan and M.S. Gopalakrishnan.
